CARE GUIDE
All materials:
We have selected only the finest quality hides. Natural variations in colour, along with small marks, are natural features and should not be viewed as imperfections.
All of our products need to be used with respect to the materials used.
Re-heeling and Resoling:
To maintain the longevity and structure of your shoes, we recommend replacing the heel cap as soon as it is worn down. Allowing it to wear through completely may result in damage to the heel itself.
For optimal durability, we also suggest resoling your shoes after a couple of weeks worth of regular use. Timely maintenance not only extends the life of your footwear but also ensures continued comfort and performance.
Material: Escovado leather.
Our Escovado leather is a natural product that is made from 100% cowhide. Our Escovado leather we use is one of our signature materials that we have used for over 2 decades. Our escovado leather is made by the best tanneries in Portugal.
Our escovado leather Has received treatment with wax in the tanning process, so it reacts with hot and cold temperatures, so when it goes from hot to cold temperatures, it can get a white shade, but this can be removed with any piece of cloth.
This treatment helps protect the boots for normal city wear.
Our escovado leather is a full grain cowhide leather which means it has natural variation in color and texture and we use minimal finish which means they create their own natural patina over time, but the natural surface also reflect the use over time, so we recommend to take care of the leather frequently.
We don't recommend using any protective sprays as this will remove the natural waxed layer and make it harder to recover stains and scratches etc.
How to preserve the quality:
- Protect from water, oils, and abrasive surfaces. If the leather becomes wet, gently blot with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air dry naturally.
- Stuff the shoes with tissue paper to keep their shape and absorb moisture.
- We recommend to use a natural hair shoe brush every once in a while and a natural shoe cream when needed.
- To clean the shoes we recommend using a slightly damp cloth.
- To remove stains and scratches you can wipe the boots over with window spray on a piece of cloth and when they are dry, you can apply the shoe cream- This will freshen the appearance of the leather up.
